City Park Players is holding auditions for Leading Ladies, written by Ken Ludwig.  Show dates are Thursdays – Sundays from June 1st to 11th. 3 younger women, 1 older woman, 3 younger men, and 2 older men are needed. Two English Shakespearean actors, Jack and Leo, find themselves so down on their luck that they are performing “Scenes from Shakespeare” on the Moose Lodge circuit in the Amish country of Pennsylvania. Shakespeare on the Green: The Tempest - LSUA Empty Space Players

 LSUA Empty Space Players’ Shakespeare on the Green was founded and directed for many years by the legendary Richard Gwartney, a longtime faculty member at the university. Gwartney was largely responsible for the emergence of the theatre program at LSUA. Until his death, LSUA Theatre performed many plays each year that included the popular Shakespeare on the Green.  It comes as a surprise that in south Louisiana, where Cajun and zydeco dominate the music scene, Vermilion Express has risen above the din to become one of the state’s hottest young bluegrass bands. The group formed in early 2016 when singer/songwriter Lakeyn Schultz met fiddler Celebrindal Roberts and bassist Alex Goodrich through UL Lafayette’s traditional music program.
