Shakespeare on the Green: The Tempest - LSUA Empty Space Players

Event Category:
Start Date:
April 28, 2017
End Date:
April 29, 2017
7:30 PM
LSUA Empty Space Players’ Shakespeare on the Green was founded and directed for many years by the legendary Richard Gwartney, a longtime faculty member at the university. Gwartney was largely responsible for the emergence of the theatre program at LSUA. Until his death, LSUA Theatre performed many plays each year that included the popular Shakespeare on the Green.

LSUA and the LSUA Empty Space Players are thrilled to announce the revival of this outdoor theatre production featuring The Tempest in Spring 2017. The Tempest was the first of many wonderful Shakespeare on the Green productions at LSU of Alexandria and will be a fitting reintroduction to this wonderful program. We are excited to again offer this cultural, educational, and entertaining experience to our Central Louisiana audiences. We look forward to seeing you at our shows!

Performances will be at 7:30 PM on Friday, April 29th and Saturday, April 29th on the LSUA Quad.
