Taking It to the Stage Acting & Theatre Workshop

This fun workshop features interactive theatre activities designed to help participants feel at ease on the stage, assume various character roles, and use their body and voice to convey emotion and tell a story. Ages 12 through adult will gain the most from this session. Space is limited. Preregistration is recommended.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Jay Ward is an actor, director, playwright. and drama teacher with the Bossier Parish Talented Arts Program. His love for the performing arts was sparked by Bobbie Heads at Faith Christian Center, while he attended high school in Vicksburg, Mississippi. A 2009 theatre graduate of Jackson State University, Jay's stage experience includes August Wilson's "Fences", Lonnie Ellder's "Ceremonies in Dark Old Men", Harper Lee's "To Kill A Mocking Bird", and many others. As a playwwright, his first play, "A Christian's Tale", was produced December 20, 2014, at New Mount Calvary Christian Center in Jackson, Mississippi. He can be seen in the upcoming film "Paranormals."
