Workshop Description: This 2-day workshop will focus on wheel-thrown stoneware bottle forms thrown off-axis and assembled in parts. Chung will demonstrate how to throw two different body shapes, assembled together with tilted perspective, adding a foot and neck feature to the altered form. These shapes relate to historical Korean and Chinese pottery forms, where students will discuss consideration of traditional pottery in a contemporary context. Participants will work with a dark stoneware clay, finishing surfaces with brushed white slip while approaching pattern and design. Basic throwing skills required.

Please note ** This is a technique based workshop. A majority of the created work will not get finished/dried/trimmed on-site simply due to timing.
