Hands to Hands Crossing Cultures - create symbolically decorated hand symbols with artist Leslie Elliottsmith. This workshop is for ages 5-12 years. No prior ability or knowledge is required. Children will learn to embrace and enjoy the arts of many nations. Pre-registration is required:

The Hamsa (hand symbol) is used by all major religions in the world. It can be a symbol of warding off evil but is also used as a symbol of reaching across cultures to achieve understanding. In Christianity it was originally on open palm hand but is frequently seen as two hands today. In Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, and Judaism it is typically an open palm hand. Sometimes a flower, fish, an all seeing and protecting eye, and a wheel are included as symbols with the hand.

Parents must accompany their child and may participate with their child(ren).
