City Park Players is pleased to offer a Summer Theatre Workshop for children in grades 1-12 this summer.

City Park Players’ Summer Theatre Workshop-Grades 1-6, directed by Tina Smith, will be held July 23 – August 3 at the Hearn Stage in Downtown Alexandria. This theatre camp will offer the opportunity for young children starting grades 1-6 to develop acting skills through theatre games, music, and activities. Participants will audition and rehearse various scenes, learning acting and singing techniques. The weeklong camp will culminate in a short performance on Friday, August 3 on Hearn Stage at Kress Theatre.

This workshop is sponsored by the RoyOMartin Foundation through a grant administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana, and a grant from the Louisiana Division of the Arts, Office of Cultural Development, Department of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism, in cooperation with the Louisiana State Arts Council, and as administered by the Arts Council of Central Louisiana. Funding has also been provided by the National Endowment for the Arts, Art Works.
