Join The Arts Council of Central Louisiana on Wednesday, September 11th for a screening of It’s Time. This film is part of the 2019 – 2020 Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers. Q & A with the writer, Jeff Sarokin and Co-Producer, Kindra Predmore will follow the screening..

The screening will be held at 7 PM at the Hearn Stage. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students.

 About the film:

It was a great day for football on October 28, 1989, but a new significance would soon be given to the Ole Miss football chant: “It’s fate. It’s football. It’s love. It’s time.” When Chucky Mullins tackled Brad Gaines, the impact shattered four vertebrae in Mullins’ cervical spine leaving him a quadriplegic. But that was just the beginning of the story. Based on real-life events, It’s Time documents the national outpouring of support and an unlikely friendship between Mullins and Gaines born of fate, faith, and family in the aftermath of a tragedy that still resonates to this day.

The film stars Emmy-nominated Pierson Fodé as Brad Gaines, Sedale Threatt Jr. as Chucky Mullins, Bradford Gaines Jr. (the real-life son of Brad Gaines) as young Brad, and Timmy Richardson as young Chucky. Two of the filmmakers—Jeff Sarokin and Kindra Predmore—will be present at the screening to meet with the audience and answer questions about their work. Jeff Sarokin has covered sports events for CBS Sports, NBC Sports, HBO, and ESPN. He has received several “Telly” and New York Festival awards for his work as well as 12 Emmys, including two for Outstanding Writing. Kindra Predmore is a highly-regarded production designer and prop and wardrobe stylist working in TV, film, and advertising.

Southern Circuit is the South's only tour of filmmakers, providing communities with an interactive way of experiencing independent film. Southern Circuit provides organizations with the opportunity to screen work from emerging filmmakers and some of the medium's most respected directors.  The Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers is a program of South Arts. Southern Circuit screenings are funded in part by a grant from South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.
